What Type of Lab Tests Do I Need?

Do you struggle with managing weight, hair loss, fatigue, depression, hot flashes, poor sleep, infertility, muscle loss, or decreased libido?

These issues are increasingly common, but some of the most difficult symptoms to diagnose. Comprehensive testing provides our patients with information and knowledge about the function of their body that they typically do not receive from their conventional doctor visits.

We have a variety of tests that can help pinpoint any underlying issues with hormones, micronutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, and imbalances of the gut bacteria. This will allow for the appropriate course of action to correct any sort of deficiencies or imbalances. Before having a test done, a consultation with Paige Ryan, the Applied Clinical Nutritionist, or Natalie Olsen, the Registered Dietitian, is required.

We provide a variety of functional lab tests

ALCAT Test:

This test checks for food and chemical sensitivities with a blood draw. As a live blood cell test, ALCAT measures your reaction to foods, chemicals, additives and food colorings with an IgG test. This depends on previous exposure and counts existing antibodies. Overall, this test will help tell you which foods and chemicals are causing inflammation and which are not.

ZRT Hormone Test:

is an at-home saliva hormone testing kit that checks progesterone, estradiol, DHEA, testosterone, and cortisol. These hormones are very important as they play multiple roles in the central nervous system to regulate cognition, mood, inflammation, mitochondrial function, neurogenesis and regeneration, fertility, glucose metabolism, and regulation of blood pressure. Abnormal blood levels of cortisol are associated with suppressed thyroid function, lower bone density and muscle mass, higher amounts of abdominal fat, increased blood pressure and impaired cognitive function. The ZRT hormone test can be done with a saliva sample or blood draw.

SPECTRACELL Micronutrient Test:

Measures how micronutrients are actually functioning within white blood cells. Specifically, 35 nutritional components consisting of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids are examined and how they function within your white blood cells. This test is done with a blood draw.

The GI MAP test is a gut microbial test that measures opportunistic organisms, normal flora,
fungi, parasites and antibiotic resistance genes. This is done with a stool sample and uses
Quantitative PCR technology as a valid DNA/PCR stool-based test. The GI-MAP test has results in
a rapid turnaround of 3- 7 days, uses high sensitivity and specificity, and examines antibiotic
resistance genes and virulence factors.

DUTCH Hormone and Metabolite Test:

This test displays an extensive profile of your sex and adrenal hormones along with their metabolites. This test also includes the daily, free cortisol pattern, organic acids, melatonin and 8-OHdG, which is a critical biomarker for damage to DNA. This comprehensive at-home assessment is done with saliva and dried urine samples.

US BIOTEK Food Sensitivity Test:

This checks for numerous food sensitivities. US BIOTEK uses proprietary ELISA analyses designed to assay specific total IgG, total IgA and IgE antibodies. Results are displayed in easy to read graphs displaying the level of reaction from none to extreme. This is done with a finger prick, blood spot at home or in-house.

Personalized Wellness Plans

After the tests,  Paige Ryan, the Applied Clinical Nutritionist or Natalie Olsen, Registered Dietitian will do a thorough evaluation of the results and create a personalized treatment plan. This will optimize health and address any underlying conditions with the appropriate healing plan. You can schedule your appointment here!
